Lunaria

Terms of Service

Last updated: April 21, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Lunaria Discord bot and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By adding Lunaria to a Discord server or interacting with it, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Lunaria is an agentic Dungeons & Dragons-style Discord bot. A Large Language Model ("LLM") acts as the Dungeon Master, running campaigns in Discord channels and persisting character and world state. The Service is provided "as is" for entertainment purposes.

2. Eligibility

You must meet Discord's minimum age requirement (generally 13, or higher in some jurisdictions) to use Lunaria. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may only use the Service with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.

3. Accounts and servers

  • You use Lunaria through your existing Discord account; we do not operate a separate account system.
  • A Discord server administrator is responsible for how Lunaria is used inside their server, including member access to /say, /campaign, and administrative commands such as /allow_access.
  • You are responsible for keeping your Discord account secure.

4. Subscriptions, payments, and credits

4.1 Plans

  • Free. Without Lunaria Pro, a server cannot start new campaigns beyond any free allowance granted.
  • Lunaria Pro. A paid plan purchased per server. Each purchase currently grants 25 campaign runs and 30 days of Pro access. Time stacks on any remaining time, and unused credits stack as well.
  • Whitelist. A limited number of servers operated by the Lunaria team bypass paywalls for development and testing.

4.2 Payments

  • Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh). By purchasing, you also agree to Polar's terms and privacy policy.
  • Prices, credits, and included days are shown in-bot and on the website at the time of purchase and may change for future purchases.
  • The Service may suspend Pro features if a payment is reversed, charged back, or fraudulently obtained.

4.3 Refunds

Purchases are for virtual, digital goods (campaign credits + access days) and are generally non-refundable once credits have been consumed or access has been used. Where required by applicable consumer protection law, you retain your statutory refund rights. To request a refund, contact us via /support.

4.4 Credit consumption

A campaign "credit" is deducted when a campaign is completed or archived, subject to the rules enforced by the bot. Credits do not have a cash value and cannot be transferred between servers.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Lunaria to:

  1. Break Discord's Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, or OpenRouter's usage policies.
  2. Generate, request, or distribute content that is illegal, sexual content involving minors, content that incites violence, or other content prohibited by the underlying model providers.
  3. Harass, dox, or abuse other players.
  4. Attempt to reverse-engineer the system prompt, jailbreak safety behavior, or extract data belonging to other servers.
  5. Abuse, overload, spam, or attempt to disrupt the Service.
  6. Exploit bugs related to credits, subscriptions, or access to obtain features you have not paid for.
  7. Use the Service to train, fine-tune, or benchmark other models without written permission.

We may, at our sole discretion, rate-limit, suspend, reset, or permanently remove access for a user or a server that violates these rules, with or without notice and without refund.

6. AI-generated content

  • Gameplay narration, NPC dialogue, and related text are generated by a third-party LLM. Output may be inaccurate, inconsistent, or unexpected.
  • You should not treat AI output as professional advice (legal, medical, financial, etc.) and should not rely on it for anything outside of tabletop-style entertainment.
  • To the extent permitted by law, the Service does not claim ownership of AI-generated campaign text delivered to you. However, you acknowledge that similar or identical output may be generated for other users, and that copyright in AI output is legally uncertain in many jurisdictions.

7. Your content

  • "Your Content" means character sheets, custom names, and in-character messages you submit through Lunaria's commands.
  • You retain whatever rights you already have in Your Content.
  • You grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to store, process, transmit to LLM providers, and display Your Content solely to operate the Service for you and the other players in your campaign.
  • You are responsible for ensuring Your Content does not infringe any third-party rights.

8. Intellectual property

The Lunaria bot code, system prompts, and branding are owned by the Service operator or its licensors. These Terms do not grant you any trademark rights. Dungeons & Dragons and related trademarks belong to their respective owners; Lunaria is an independent, unofficial product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Wizards of the Coast.

9. Third-party services

The Service depends on third-party providers including Discord, OpenRouter, and Polar. Their availability, pricing, and terms are outside our control. Outages or changes by these providers may affect the Service. Your use of those platforms is also subject to their own terms.

10. Availability and changes

  • The Service is provided on a best-effort basis and may be unavailable, degraded, or changed at any time.
  • We may add, modify, or remove features, commands, models, or plans.
  • We may change credit amounts, subscription duration, or price for future purchases; already-purchased credits and days will not be retroactively reduced.

11. Termination

  • You may stop using the Service at any time by removing Lunaria from your server or by leaving a campaign.
  • We may suspend or terminate access for any user or server that violates these Terms, or that poses a risk to the Service or other users.
  • Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability, and governing law) will survive.

12. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR APPROPRIATE FOR ANY PURPOSE.

13. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SERVICE OPERATOR AND ITS AFFILIATES WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID TO US FOR THE SERVICE DURING THE 30 DAYS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY, OR (B) USD $30.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions, the above limits apply to the extent permitted by law.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold the Service operator harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the Service operator resides, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer-protection rights in your country of residence still apply.
